ROCHESTER - MCC swimmer Tamara Miler was announced as the 2015-2016 NJCAA Region III Female Student-Athlete of the Year on Tuesday.
The sophomore from Prevalje, Slovenia was a two-time Region III/Northeast District Female Swimmer of the Year, as well as a two-time NJCAA Non-Scholarship Female Swimmer of the Year. She was a six-time NJCAA national champion, including four titles at the 2016 NJCAA national meet that helped the Tribune women to a third-place finish and the Spyke Johnson Award as non-scholarship champions.
Miler was also the recipient of the 2016 SUNY Chancellor's Scholar Athlete Award for Women's Swimming, the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence, and the Samuel J. Stabins Award as MCC's top female student-athlete.
Miler will transfer to Azusa Pacific University, located in the Los Angeles-suburb of Azusa, Calif., to continue her academic and athletic endeavors.
