FORT PIERCE, Florida - Tamara Miler made it two national titles in as many days, winning the 200 freestyle on the second day of the 2016 NJCAA swimming and diving championship meet Thursday.
Miler finished first in a time of 1:51.96 for the Monroe women, who are in fourth place overall. Teammate Megan Mack was seventh in the same event in 2:02.47.
Miler will attempt to make it three titles on Friday as she looks to defend her 2015 crown in the 500 free.
Angela Bozza was sixth in the 400 IM (5:00.04) and Abby Tripp took eighth in 100 fly (1:01.26). The women's 200 free relay team of Tripp, Kristin Brown, Bozza, and Mack was fifth (1:43.35).
Ayoub Tahiri was seventh in the 100 fly (52.95) and Kyle Callan placed eighth in the 50 back (25.71) to pace the MCC men, who are fifth in the team standings.
The 200 free relay team of Callan, Ilya Shinkeyev, Tahiri, and Jason Cook placed fifth (1:28.96), and the 400 medley relay squad of Michael Loucks, Mariano Lopez, Tahoro, and Cook did the same (3:41.84).
