MCC men's hoops to host district title game Saturday

ROCHESTER - Fresh off a Region III championship, the MCC men's basketball team will continue its march to the national tournament on its home court this weekend.

The Tribunes (28-3) will host Community College of Rhode Island at 1 p.m. Saturday in the District 2 championship game.  The winner will advance to the NJCAA Division II national tournament, March 19-23, in Danville, Ill.

MCC, which is ranked third in the national poll, reached the district game by way of a 98-89 victory over Erie CC in last weekend's Region IIIchampionship game.  CCRI (20-11), which is ranked 20th, advanced via a 68-53 victory over Dean College in the Region XXI title tilt.
