BRANCHBURG, New Jersey - Devonte Dixon scored 27 to lead the MCC men's basketball team to an overtime victory over Raritan Valley on Sunday and a weekend sweep of a pair of road games.
The Tribunes topped Raritan Valley 87-84 to move to 6-4 on the season. That came on the heels of an 84-67 win against Lackawanna College on Saturday.
Dixon finished 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and nailed a pair of free throws with 29.9 seconds left in overtime to clinch the win against Raritan Valley. The freshman guard scored 16 of his game-high total in the second half and overtime.
Omar Williams added 22 points and seven assists for the Tribunes. The sophomore point guard hit one free throw with a minute left in the extra session to put Monroe up 85-84, setting up Dixon's late points.
Dixon hit six 3's and scored 23 to lead Monroe past Lackawanna on Saturday. Colvin-Seldon added 18 points, eight boards and seven blocks, and Platt had a huge all-around game with 14 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and five steals.
Williams added 12, while Tremaine Carter chipped in with seven poitns and five rebounds.
