JAMESTOWN, New York - Majesty Brandon scored 23 of his game-high 28 points in the second half as MCC overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Jamestown Community College 76-57 in WNYAC men's basketball action Thursday evening.
The freshman guard was 7-for-9 from the floor, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc as Monroe took command over the final 20 minutes. Trailing 33-31 at the intermission, the Tribunes (8-1 WNYAC, 16-4 overall) outscored the Jayhawks 45-24 after the break to ease to the win.
MCC shot 55 percent from the field in the second half. Conversely, Jamestown was just 8-for-29 (27 percent) over the game's second stanza.
Mike Kelly Jr. had another solid game with 17 points and 11 rebounds for Monroe. Noah West chipped in with 13 points. MCC outrebounded Jamestown 41-26 and held the Jayhawks to just two second-chance points.
