MCC tops Jefferson to stay unbeaten

ROCHESTER - Curtis Raymond and Kasey Olsen scored three goals each to lead the MCC men's lacrosse team to a 13-6 victory over Jefferson Community College Saturday afternoon.

The ninth-ranked Tribunes improved to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in Region III with the win. Monroe hosts No. 4 Genesee next Wednesday. 

Raymond scored twice as Monroe jumped out to a 5-2 lead after one quarter. MCC then broke it open by outscoring the Cannoneers 4-0 in the second quarter, highlighted by a pair of goals from Olsen.

Matt McDowell finished with two goals and three assists and Jeremy Powers also scored twice for Monroe. Nick Wilder added a goal and two assists, and Ian Mohr and Jake Moss had one goal apiece.

Andrew Kausch made 12 saves in goal for the Tribunes. Emilio Petricola added six ground balls and Joe English picked up five.
