Men's lax cruises past Broome

BINGHAMTON - Backed by a seven-point performance from freshman David Lehman, the MCC men's lacrosse team picked up a 19-5 victory over Region III opponent Broome Community College on Saturday.

Lehman totaled five goals and two assists for the ninth-ranked Tribunes, who improved to 4-2 on the season. He scored twice in the opening quarter and added single goals in each of the final three frames as Monroe pulled away for the win.

MCC led 3-1 after 15 minutes and 8-3 at the half. Monroe then put it away by outscoring the Hornets 5-0 in the third quarter.

Kasey Olsen finished with three goals and an assist and Jeremy Powers added two goals and two assists for the Tribunes. Curtis Raymond and Ian Mohr chipped in with two scores apiece.

Matt McDowell, Ryan Nicholson, Connor Nicholson, Jake Moss, and Ethan Marchitell all scored one goal.

Andrew Kausch and Andrew Barreca combined for seven saves in the cage.
