Tribunes hold on, wrap regular season with win

TROY, New York - The MCC men's lacrosse team held off a late charge by Hudson Valley CC and went on to defeat the Vikings 8-7 in the team's regular season finale Saturday.

The Tribunes (8-4) will host a Region III first round game on Wednesday against Finger Lakes. MCC finished 7-2 against regional opponents.

Up 7-2 heading to the fourth, Monroe saw Hudson Valley put up five goals in the final frame to draw close. The Vikings cut the lead to one with a little over five minutes left, but MCC was able to thwart any further effort.

Jake Moss finished with two goals and three assists, and Austin Jobson and Brandon Barnhart added two goals apiece for the Tribunes. Hudson Weil and Patrick Brewer added single scores.

Mark Campbell made 16 saves in goal for Monroe.
