Tribunes wrap regular season with solid win over Tri-C

CLEVELAND - Anthony Paris had a goal and an assist, Marco DeLauri stopped six shots, and the MCC men's soccer team capped the regular season with a convincing 3-0 win over Cuyahoga Community College Saturday afternoon.

The Tribunes will head to the postseason sporting an 8-4-1 record. Monroe will host the Region III, Division I championship against Mercyhurst North East this coming Saturday, Oct. 29, at 2:30 p.m. MCC will start postseason play on a high note, having won its last three by a combined score of 23-0.

Lucas Egan scored the game's first goal - and the eventual game-winner - by converting a pass from Prince Kermue in the 23rd minute.  MCC took that 1-0 lead into the locker room after outshooting the Challengers 12-6 over the first 45 minutes.

Monroe then put the game away with a pair of goals in a span of just 14 seconds in the second half. Paris added some insurance in the 65th minute, taking a feed from Adrian Minott and converting to make it 2-0.

Paris then assisted on Vasbert Harry's goal quickly after the restart to provide the final margin.

DeLauri made four of his six saves in the second half to keep Cuyahoga off the board. The Tribunes finished with a 21-11 advantage in total shots.
