ROCHESTER - Freshman defender Eric Longhorn was named the Region III Player of the Year and highlighted six Tribunes who were named to the all-region team.

The Tribunes (9-4-1) claimed the regional title with a pair of wins over Mercyhurst North East during the regular season. Head coach Nelson Cupello earned regional Coach of the Year honors.

Longhorn spearheaded a defense that has been among the best in the nation this season. The freshman defender from Hull, England leads a backline that ranks in the Top 10 in goals allowed (10) and goals against average (0.70).

He was joined on the all-region team by fellow defensive mate Andriy Demydiv, as well as keeper Kyle Bimek. The sophomores have been key to the defensive efforts this season as well. Bimek's 0.40 GAA is second in the nation, and he's allowed just three goals in almost 700 minutes of action.

Also making the all-region team were sophomore midfielder Jordan Sullivan, freshman forward Isaiah Lee, and freshman midfielder Karlyl Simon.

Sullivan, team captain and the MVP of last weekend's Region III championship game, has been a steady presence in the center of the pitch. He has tallied three goals and five assists on the season.

Lee is the team's leading scorer with 19 goals and four assists. He did that all in 11 contests before leaving to represent his home country of Trinidad & Tobago in the U-20 CONCACAF Cup.

Simon has been a solid two-way player and has four goals and three assists on the season.
