Monroe men claim second at regionals

ROCHESTER - The MCC men's swimming and dicing team claimed second place at the 2017 Region III/Northeast District championship meet over the weekend.

The Tribunes finished runner-up to Genesee Community College, snapping a 17-year Monroe reign atop the Region III and Northeast District standings.

Patrick Marsh took home MCC's lone event win on Sunday, placing first in the 200 fly in a time of 2:11.35. He also took third in the 1650 free (18:46.14).

Jon Manwarren finished runner-up in the 200 back (2:09.53), and Ben Metzger did the same in the 100 free (50.07).

Maclaine Conner was third in the 200 breast (2:28.00). The 400 free relay team of Caleb Puzio, Alex Parks, Marsh, and Metzger was second in 3:25.89.

Up next for Monroe is the NJCAA championship meet in Buffalo in early March.
