BUFFALO - The MCC men's swimming and diving team placed second in a fine showing at the 2018 Geneseo Invitational on Saturday.
The Tribunes totaled 525 points on the meet, trailing only Geneseo, which had 713. Buffalo State was third, followed by Nazareth College and Roberts Wesleyan.
Freshman Gabriel Knaut won two individual events for Monroe, taking first in the 50 free (21.17) and the 100 free (47.08). He also teamed with Alex Parks, Aaron Berghash, and Ben Metzger to take fourth place in the 200 free relay in a time of 1:29.04.
Greg Sanders also had a solid performance for the Tribunes, as he took runner-up honors in both the 100 breast (1:02.56) and the 200 breast (2:16.16). He also placed fifth in the 200 IM (2:09.40).
Patrick Marsh placed second in the 1000 free (10:59.74) and third in the 200 fly (2:09.70), while Noah Burr finished second in the 200 back (2:08.20) and fourth in the 100 back (56.67). Loren Searle was third and fourth in 3-meter (303.45) and 1-meter (295.10) diving, respectively. Metzger added a fifth-place finish in the 100 fly (56.02).
