COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - MCC sophomore Tori Thuman was named a second team All-American by the NJCAA.
The catcher led Monroe (13-16) in a number of offensive categories, including batting average (.521), hits (49), triples (4), home runs (7), RBIs (43), on base percentage (.540), and slugging percentage (.947). She finished the season with 22 extra base hits, and her slugging percentage was also good for third in the nation.
Thuman earned NJCAA National Player of the Week honors for the week of April 17-23. During that memorable six-game span, she batted .750 (18-for-24) with five doubles, three homers, and 23 RBIs. That included a doubleheader sweep of Hudson Valley in which she went 8-for-8 with 14 runs driven in.
Thuman finished her fantastic Monroe career as a .493 hitter with 17 home runs and 89 RBIs. She was also a two-time All-Region III selection.
