ROCHESTER - The MCC softball team picked up a pair of regional victories over Niagara County Community College, completing a doubleheader sweep in the team's regular season home finale on Thursday.

The Tribunes (18-8) scored the go-ahead runs in the sixth inning in a 4-3 victory in the opener. Monroe then took the nightcap by a score of 9-1.

MCC trailed 3-2 heading to the bottom of the sixth in game one. Jennifer Teerlinck led off with a triple to right field and came around to tie the game on a double off the bat of Amber Terlaje

Taylor House followed with a hard single up the middle, which scored pinch runner Natalie Schinsing to put Monroe in front.

Terlaje then set the Thunderwolves down in order in the top of the seventh to put the game away. The sophomore went the distance, allowing two earned runs and striking out eight for her 11th win of the season.

Terlaje also finished with two hits and two RBIs, and Vicky Adkins added two hits and a run scored.

MCC scored in every inning to back a strong outing from Cassidy Geise to win game two in five innings. Geise allowed a run on three hits for the victory.
