Winning streak hits 26 for Lady Tribunes

ROCHESTER - Adre'onia Coleman scored 16 of her game-high 23 points in the first quarter to spark the unbeaten MCC women's basketball team to a dominating, 96-43 victory over Erie Community College Thursday night.

The second-ranked Tribunes (9-0 WNYAC, 26-0 overall) wrap up the regular season at home on Saturday against 12th-ranked Niagara County CC.  Gametime is 1 p.m.

Coleman was 8-for-11 from the floor and paced an offense that shot 58 percent (37-for-64) on the night. The Monroe defense was also on top of its game, as the Tribunes forced 32 turnovers.

Deja Carroll chipped in with 14 points and five assists and Abby White hit four 3's and scored 12. Shanice Johnson had another fine all-around effort with 11 points, six steals, and four assists.

Shyana McLeod also hit double figures with 10 points.
