Lady Tribs wrap up perfect regular season

ROCHESTER - Shanice Johnson scored 27, Deja Carroll added 22, and the second-ranked MCC women's basketball team capped a perfect regular season with a 98-52 win over No. 12 Niagara County Community College Saturday afternoon.

The Tribunes (10-0, 26-0) is the top seed and will host the Region III, Division II tournament Feb. 27-28. 

Johnson was unstoppable in the paint.  Most of her damage was done at the free throw line, as she finished 17-for-19 from the charity stripe. Johnson also added nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Carroll was incredibly efficient, finishing 8-for-10 from the floor and 5-for-5 from the line. 

MCC led by 17 after the first quarter and carried a 53-24 lead into the break. The Tribunes held the Thunderwolves to 27 percent shooting from the field.

Kiki Bynes added 12 points and four assists for Monroe. Adre'onia Coleman scored nine, Chelsey Wilbern added eight, and Caitie Broderick and Abby White had seven each.
