COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - MCC sophomore Shanice Johnson was named a first team All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association.
The 6-foot forward from Philadelphia guided the Lady Tribunes to a 31-2 record, the Region III, Division II championship, and a fourth-place finish at the NJCAA national tournament.
Johnson averaged a team-high 15.1 points per game to go along with 7.6 rebounds and 3.4 steals. She was named Region III Player of the Year.
Johnson saved some of her best work for the postseason. She averaged 24 points and nine rebounds per game and was named to the all-tournament team as the Tribunes took home fourth place at the national tournament.
