Red-hot Lady Tribs take two over the weekend

COLUMBIA, Maryland - Sierra Green's huge game on Sunday capped a lights-out shooting performance as the MCC women's basketball team picked up two victories at the Dragon Invitational at Howard Community College over the weekend.

Green was 8-of-9 from beyond the arc - and 13-of-14 overall - as the Tribunes (4-0) made a team single-game record 18 3-pointers in a 107-35 win over CCBC-Catonsville on Sunday morning. That came on the heels of a record-tying 17 made 3's a day earlier as MCC beat Prince George's 76-47 on Saturday.

Monroe had also tied the mark last Thursday with 17 3's in a win over Onondaga, giving the team 52 3-pointers in the past three games.

Green finished with a game-high 34 in just 16 minutes of action against Catonsville. Torrie Cash hit four 3's to help Monroe break the mark.

Lanay Rodney had a huge all-around game, finishing with 20 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Kathryn Kanhoye added nine points, 10 rebounds, and five steals.

Green hit six 3's and scored 21 to lead MCC over Prince George's on Saturday. Erica Abitante chipped in with 17, while Ellease Billings-Harrison added 10 points. Abitante and Taliyah Brisco had three 3's each while Billings-Harrison and Abby White chipped in with two apiece.
