Champion Tribunes place five on All-American team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - Fresh off the program's fifth consecutive NJCAA national title, the MCC women's lacrosse team appropriately placed five players on the year-ending NJCAA All-American list.

The Tribunes claimed their seventh national title overall after dispatching Howard Community College 12-3 on May 14.

Leading the way for Monroe were sophomores Charity Warner and Dana Isaacs, who each earned All-American honors for the second straight year.  Warner tallied 20 goals and 12 assists from her position in the midfield, scooped up 26 ground balls, caused 10 turnovers, and handled 25 draws.

Isaacs, another midfielder, had 36 goals and nine assists and led the nation with 88 draw controls. She added a team-high 14 caused turnovers while picking up 25 ground balls.

Joining those two on the team were fellow sophomores Christie Hahn, Morgan Hollenbeck, and Taylor Excell.

Hahn registered 39 goals and led the country both in assists (47) and total points (86). Hollenbeck, who was the Region III Player of the Year, had 31 goals and 21 assists while also tallying 52 draw controls and 31 ground balls.

Excell had 29 goals and 10 assists, totaled 44 draw controls and 32 ground balls, and was the Offensive MVP of the national tournament.

The Tribunes finished the season 15-0 and have won 83 consecutive games. A complete list of the NJCAA All-Americans may be found here.
