NSCAA tabs Galvano as Coach of the Year

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced on Monday the 2016 NSCAA Regional and National Coaches of the Year for men's and women's soccer at the junior college level.

MCC women's soccer coach Sal Galvano was honored as the North Region Coach of the Year after leading the Tribunes to a 14-3-3 record along with regional and district championships.

Monroe advanced to the NJCAA Division I tournament, where they reached the semifinals before falling on penalty kicks to eventual national champion Paradise Valley.

Galvano also earned NJCAA Region III Coach of the Year honors, an award he has won all nine years he has been at the helm of the Tribunes.

The 2016 NSCAA Junior College Regional Coaches of the Year will be honored at the College Coaches Awards Reception presented by Surf Cup Sports on Jan. 12, 2017, at the JW Marriott Los Angeles.
