Zerva named NJCAA All-American

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - MCC freshman Theoni Zerva was named a second team All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association.

The midfielder from Kalamata, Greece, was a central figure in Monroe's 13-3 season that included the Region III, Division I title. In her first season with the Black and Gold, Zerva tallied 19 goals, a team-high 21 assists, and also led MCC with 59 points.

She had two games where she registered nine points - four goals and an assist in a 9-0 win over Jackson College, and three goals and three assists in the 14-0 win over Mercyhurst North East in the regional title game. Zerva registered a point in 12 of Monroe's 16 matches.
