Women's swimming opens with three wins

JAMESTOWN, New York - A trio of double winners led the way as the MCC women's swimming and diving team opened the 2016-17 season with victories over Region III opponents Jamestown, Genesee, and Erie on Saturday.

Alison Gregor, Heather Chrisman, and Megan Mack all won twice to pace the Tribunes. MCC defeated Jamestown 136-48, Genesee 119.5-53.5, and Erie 137-42.

Gregor took first in the 50 free (26.83) and the 100 fly (1:06.95). Chrisman tied for the win in the 100 back (1:07.00) and also won in the 100 breast (1:14.98), while Mack was victorious in the 100 free (1:00.45) and the 1000 free (12:12.76).

Ashley VanDermeer won the 200 IM in a time of 2:27.52 and was part of the winning 200 medley relay along with Rina Shaffer, Gregor, and Andrea Toussaint (2:05.74).

The 200 free relay squad of Chrisman, Hallie Marquart, Hannah Cuyler, and Mack placed first in a time of 1:53.10.
