Tribunes make quick work of Niagara

SANBORN, New York - The MCC volleyball team dispatched host Niagara County Community College in straight sets in a Western New York Athletic Conference matchup Tuesday evening.

The Tribunes (15-2) prevailed by the scores of 25-11, 25-15, 25-16. Monroe travels to Fulton-Montgomery Community College this Saturday for three regional matches.

Andrea Green led a balanced attack with 11 kills to go along with three blocks. Tessa Engel added eight kills and nine digs, while Chelsea Steinruck chipped in with six kills and five digs.

There wasn't much drama, save for a few moments early in the third set as Niagara raced out to a 9-1 lead. Behind the service of Sam Ashman, though, MCC rattled off the next nine points to reclaim the lead and the momentum.

Jala McFadden added eight digs and Jessica DeJesus tallied five kills and seven digs on the night.
