Jamestown holds off Monroe

JAMESTOWN, New York - The MCC volleyball took the first set from unbeaten Jamestown before dropping the next three in a Western New York Athletic Conference match Tuesday night.

The Tribunes (17-4) prevailed 26-24 in the opening set. The Jayhawks rebounded in a big way by taking the second set 25-13. Jamestown then won 25-19 and 25-13 to clinch the match.

Tessa Engel finished with 10 kills and 14 digs to pace Monroe. Andrea Green added eight kills, 12 digs, and five blocks.

Jessie Blumenfeld had 26 assists and nine digs and Chelsea Steinruck tallied eight digs for MCC. Cherelle Grant chipped in with five blocks.
