Zimmerman headed to Thompson Rivers
The guard helped lead MCC to a fifth-place finish at nationals.
KAMLOOPS, British Columbia, Canada - Former MCC basketball player Ta-Quan Zimmerman has committed to Thompson Rivers University to continue his academic and athletic careers.
TRU is a Division I university located in British Columbia, Canada.
Zimmerman played in all 36 games for the Tribunes (32-4), starting 34 of them. He averaged 10.a points per game as MCC won regional and district titles and finished fifth at the NJCAA Division II national tournament.
He also led the team in rebounding at six per game and was second in assists with 3.3 per contest. Zimmerman eclipsed double digits in points 20 times, including a season-high 21 against Hagerstown CC Nov. 24.
He pulled down 16 rebounds against Jamestown-Olean Jan. 24 and dished out 11 assists against Mercyhurst NE Feb. 20.
