ROCHESTER - The MCC men's lacrosse team picked up its first victory of the season in convincing fashion Wednesday, topping Broome CC 15-2 on John L. DiMarco Field.
Monroe is 1-1 on the season. The team travels to Syracuse on Saturday evening to take on defending national champion Onondaga CC at the Carrier Dome. Gametime is 4 p.m.
Torry Whitcher (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) led the attack with four goals and two assists. LeRoy Halftown (Cattaraugus Reservation/Mynderse) added four goals for the second consecutive game.
Ethan Printy (Irondequoit, NY/Eastridge) chipped in with a pair of goals, and Lindsey Pound (Henderson, NY/Immaculate Heart) had a goal and an assist.
Tyler Martin (Central Square, NY/Central Square), Sean Biggie (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee), Mitch Smith (Hilton, NY/Hilton), and Pete Barilla (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit) all added a goal apiece.
Alex Howell (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) and Nick Beniamino (Mendon, NY/HF-L) combined to make seven saves in goal.
