ROCHESTER - The MCC men's lacrosse team advanced to the Region III semifinals with a 19-8 victory over Herkimer County CC Wednesday.
The Tribunes (9-6) will travel to Herkimer Saturday for the semifinals. Time and opponent are yet to be determined.
Kori Halftown (Cattaraugus Reservation/Gowanda) scored seven goals and Tyler Martin (Central Square, NY/Central Square) added four goals and five assists to lead Monroe.
Mitch Smith (Hilton, NY/Hilton) added three goals and one assist, and Ethan Printy (Irondequoit, NY/Eastridge) and Nick Wolak (Brighton, NY/Brighton) tallied two goals and two assists each. Lindsey Pound (Henderson, NY/Immaculate Heart) also scored.
Alex Howell (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) and Nick Beniamino (Mendon, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) combined to stop seven shots.
