MCC softball runs win streak to eight

SANBORN, NY - MCC's offensive onslaught continued Thursday, as the Tribunes swept Niagara County CC 13-5 and 13-0 in a WNYAC softball twinbill.
Monroe has won eight consecutive games and is 8-12 on the year.
Jenna Clarke (Brockport, NY/Brockport) had a big game at the plate in the opener, going 2-for-2 with a double, three runs scored, and two RBIs. MCC scored five runs in the second and six in the third.
Joanna Bardak (Amherst, NY/Amherst) continued her hot hitting with two hits and three runs scored. Allee Jurewicz (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster), Lateja Bryant (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt), and Morgan Simmons (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan) all added two hits as well.
The offense continued in the nightcap, as MCC rolled off seven runs in the first inning. The frame was highlighted by two-run doubles from Chrissy Rennard (Brockport, NY/Brockport) and Clarke, along with a two-run home run from Bardak.
Angela Sims (Geneva, NY/Geneva) provided some punch later in the game with an RBI double in the second and a three-run homer in the fourth.
Alexis Haley (Rochester, NY/Aquinas) finished 3-for-4 for MCC. Bardak, Jurewicz, Rennard, Sims, Clarke, and Tabby McBride (Marcellus, NY/Marcellus) all added two hits.
Taylor Grieger (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) picked up the victory on the mound in each game.
