Lady Tribunes continue their hot streak
MCC moves its winning streak to 11 games with a 101-30 win over Mercyhurst.
ROCHESTER, NY – A dominating first half propelled the MCC women's basketball team to a 101-30 victory over Mercyhurst North East Thursday evening on Monagan Court.
The win was the 11th in a row for the Lady Tribunes, who moved to 12-4 on the season.
MCC outscored MErcyhurst 42-13 over the first 20 minutes, holding the Saints to 5-for-30 from the field while forcing 17 turnovers. Karin Robinson (Queens, NY/Mary Louis Academy) had 12 of her game-high 18 points in the first half, and Donisha Watson (Bronx, NY/Mount Vernon) had 10 points and nine rebounds at the break on her way to a 15-point, 14-rebound performance.
Mercyhurst's Lenay Simms, who scored 32 points in the teams' first meeting in November, a 94-55 Monroe win, was held to five points on the night.
Tyra Jones (Rochester, NY/East) finished with 16 points and eight rebounds for MCC. Sydni Lester (Teaneck, NJ/Teaneck) added 12 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and four steals.
MCC outrebounded Mercyhurst 68-31 and forced 33 turnovers.
