LYNDHURST, Ohio - The second-ranked MCC women's lacrosse team rode an overpowering first half to a 16-8 victory over host Notre Dame College Wednesday evening.
The Tribunes (5-0) raced to a 13-2 lead after the first 30 minutes of play. Sophomore Courtney Reuter (Newark, NY/Newark) scored four times in the first half and finished with six goals and an assist on the night.
Melanie Murphy (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) finished with three goals and an assist, all of which came in the first half. Caitlin Cavallaro (Corning, NY/Corning East) was strong in goal, finishing with 10 saves.
Elizabeth Lacomb (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) added two goals and an assist, and Keirsten MacLellan (Baltimore, MD/Seton Keough) scored twice.
Courtney O'Hara (Greece, NY/Greece Arcadia), Gina Akel (Ogden, NY/Churchville-Chili), and Hannah Barnett (Gorham, NY/Marcus Whitman) added one goal apiece. Molly Gray (Gorham, NY/Marcus Whitman) dished out three assists.
