Bio
Zach Stevenson was named the sixth Director of Athletics at Monroe Community College in March 2026, bringing with him a strong background in collegiate athletics administration, coaching, and student-athlete development.
Stevenson arrived at MCC after serving as the Athletic Director at Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) in Rangely, Colorado. During his tenure, he oversaw a comprehensive intercollegiate athletics program while leading initiatives focused on program growth, facility improvements, student-athlete success, and community engagement. His leadership emphasized building a strong culture within the department while aligning athletics with the broader mission of the institution.
Before becoming an athletic director, Stevenson built a diverse coaching and administrative résumé. He served as an assistant baseball coach at the College of San Mateo in Northern California, where the program posted a 60–39–1 record during his time on staff and hosted a regional playoff. In his role as hitting and outfield coach, first base coach, and transfer coordinator, Stevenson helped guide 40 student-athletes to four-year universities, including 19 who advanced to NCAA Division I programs.
Stevenson also spent five seasons as a varsity assistant baseball coach at Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora, Colorado, where he helped lead the program to the 2016 Colorado 5A State Championship. He later returned to Colorado Northwestern Community College as a volunteer assistant coach, further strengthening his ties to the junior college athletics landscape.
A proud product of the NJCAA, Stevenson played baseball at Colorado Northwestern Community College from 2011 to 2013 before continuing his education and pursuing a career in athletics administration and coaching. He later earned a Master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine.
Stevenson is committed to fostering an environment where student-athletes can succeed both academically and athletically while representing Monroe Community College with pride. He believes strongly in the role athletics plays in shaping leadership, discipline, and opportunity for students.
Stevenson and his wife, Chelsea, have three children and are proud to call Rochester home as they begin their next chapter with the Monroe Community College community.
