ROCHESTER - Rochester Senior AAA scored two goals in the final 2:15 to earn a 6-5 victory over MCC in an ice hockey game Friday at Bill Grey's Regional Iceplex.
The loss was the first of the season for the Tribunes, who fall to 6-1 on the season.
After a scoreless first period, Rochester jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of goals 1:32 apart. Monroe then rallied to tie the game on scores by Dominik Gabaj and Martin Matejcek.
After a Rochester goal, MCC took the lead as Pavel Kuzmin and Gabaj scored back-to-back goals to make it 4-3.
The back-and-forth contest continued into the third, when Rochester scored to tie it before Matejcek scored his second to give MCC a 5-4 lead with 11:53 remaining.
The score remained that way until Rochester tied the game with just 2:15 remaining. The Seniors then tallied the game-winner with less than a minute left.
Kevin Cortivo handed out two assists, and Kuzmin, Gabaj, Matejcek, and Jake Ryan all added one.
